The concept

The Mediterranean, its beaches, its light, its citrus fruits, its smells... but it is also a culture, a history and an ART.
L'APARTAMENTO chooses to work exclusively with small-scale artisans, often found in Spanish and Italian villages. This research and approach are designed to be their voice, ensuring that their talent is noticed and valued. A desire to highlight artisans and their expertise, passed down through generations; so that this tradition, these gestures, and this passion may endure.
From these encounters arises a desire to go against the grain, to break free from a certain temporality, but also from the usual seasons and commercial highlights. This time, the epicenter is the craftsman, who sets the pace and rhythm for the collections. An adaptation that speaks volumes and seeks to preserve precious time necessary for creativity and the successful completion of the works.
Consume differently, better, closer, so that each object has meaning and tells us a story...

Sofía spent her childhood between France and Spain, lulled by sweet summers on the Costa Blanca with her grandparents. These years, filled with light, laughter, and wonderful moments spent with her grandmother, "Mamina," would leave their mark on her life. They awakened her taste for traditions and craftsmanship, and later developed a true aesthetic within her.
At the same time, her mother discovered a late passion for decoration and Sofía grew up among her personal creations, patiently made in her small workshop.
Later, it was in Paris and then New York that she discovered the flea markets and markets of Brooklyn, where she spent every weekend hunting for bargains. A true treasure hunt, she already imagined the story of each object and the different lives it might have had.
She worked in fashion for fifteen years, then set up her own communications agency to support both major brands and small designers. A true jack-of-all-trades, it was only a short step for this painting and art history enthusiast to stumble upon L'APARTAMENTO.
A concept that emerged after a long stay in Italy, where she had the idea of finding small artisans in the Mediterranean basin, in order to highlight their know-how. She then set herself a mission: to showcase this Spanish and Italian craftsmanship that is so dear to her. She collaborates closely with each of them, even participating in the creation and design of certain pieces. As someone who loves long, lively tables, this concept ultimately brings together everything she loves: bringing friends and family together around a beautiful table, always synonymous with stories and conviviality.
This is what she wants to convey and tell through L'APARTAMENTO: an object, a culture, a story...
