The "botijo" is an object used as a gourd, made of porous clay that has existed since ancient times. It is an ingenious invention for keeping water cool through a process of evaporative cooling. When water is poured, it is absorbed by the clay, gradually seeping through the pores to the outer surface. This creates a natural cooling effect that keeps the water always fresh. Diverted from its original function, L'Apartamento revisits this historical object to turn it into a true decorative object.
